Family and Friends
reported by Jordan and Karen on 8/02/00

Dear family and friends,

"Love is the key to life, and its influences are those that move the world"
Ralph Waldo Trine

It is difficult to express my grief for this loss. Scott was like a  brother to me, and I am fortunate to have know him if only for a few years.  Throughout our adventures, his confidence gave me courage and his
encouragement gave me strength. He was always smiling and always looking for a new adventure. He loved whatever he was doing, and that always radiated from him. His pervasive, positive attitude has forever influenced me as well as many others. He lived every moment and he continues to live within me and every one of us.

My wife Karen and I have enjoyed climbing, hiking, camping, skydiving, sailing, working, and dining with Scott, and are privileged to have known him.

"Never take times with friends for granted. One day you may
understand  why I live  my life the way I do (maybe I will understand
too)...I climb...in climbing I am put in a position where two people are
suffering, and the only way to make it out is  to pull together. The feeling
of living, completing a climb, finishing...there will be a celebration
with those who saw you through those times.
Be glad that those times exist. They are special moments."
