...........So as the solo climber past our tent and fell to his knees, I thought how lucky I was to have a partner. My partner, when I was gone waited for my return with binoculars in hand. I was greeted with a bottle of warm tea and hot food. When Chris was gone, I couldn't sleep. I was awake until 0400 warming hot Gatorade in my sleeping bag and keeping homemade brownies that I acquired earlier in the day from freezing. Both Chris and I, while waiting for the return of the other, traveled around Denali City, proudly telling others that "my partner is up going for the summit." Think of the feeling you receive when you meet someone for the first time and they know about you already...

"Never take times with friends for granted. One day you may
understand  why I live  my life the way I do (maybe I will understand
too)...I climb...in climbing I am put in a position where two people are
suffering, and the only way to make it out is  to pull together. The feeling
of living, completing a climb, finishing...there will be a celebration
with those who saw you through those times.
Be glad that those times exist. They are special moments."

"Take care and live life to the fullest." - Scott Kinkele
